About the Journal

Journal Origin and Acknowledgements:

The Texas Association of College Teachers of Agricultural Mechanization started the Journal of Agricultural Mechanization in 1985. The Journal was originally financed through publishing charges, subscriptions and contributions from the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. In the beginning, educators within Texas provided most of the research published in the Journal. As the Journal evolved, it was expanded to include contributions from throughout the United States and Canada.

In 1989 the National Agricultural Mechanics Committee (NAMC), recognizing the importance of this Journal, voted to support The Journal of Agricultural Mechanization through subscriptions, articles and promotion through and by the membership. NAMC members now author many of the publications and provide much of the guidance for this Journal.

During 1998 and 1999 the title of The Journal of Agricultural Mechanization was changed to the Journal of of Agricultural Systems, Management and Technology.  The committee members of NAMC and individuals that contribute to the Journal recommended the change as a means of updating the focus of the Journal and identifying the current trends in industry.

The editor works with the authors and referees for the selection of quality, peer-reviewed manuscripts to be published. Authors provide a record of their research efforts, and individuals who review the manuscripts dedicate their time and resources toward the production of research publications that document contributions in the field of agricultural systems, technology, and management.  The Journal editors acknowledge these contributions and express sincere gratitude to all those responsible.

In addition, recognition and appreciation is due to all the individuals who have served as editors, authors, and contributors for this Journal. Only through the continued support of these individuals is this Journal possible.
